US Integrated Modeling in the ITER Era:
 

What is it:

April 2nd and 3rd we will focus on identifying the challenges and requirements for the US fusion integrated modeling program to effectively support ITER experiments, and exploit ITER data to its full capacity.

Goals:

  • Overview of the ITER integrated modeling technology
  • Identify and raise awareness about potential problem for remote exploitation of ITER data, and suggest possible solutions
  • Identify gaps in the US theory and modeling program with respect to ITER requirements for shot validation and planning, as well as for high fidelity simulations
  • Coordinate mapping the data of US and fusion facilities and modeling codes to the IMAS format
  • Write an executive summary with the findings, to be reported to DoE and ITER
